To All members of WFIS

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Scouting,

On the 22. February 2020, we will celebrate the 163th Birthday of our Founder Robert Stephenson Smyth Baden-Powell, Lord of Gilwell and the 131th Birthday of Olave St. Clair, former World Guide Chief and Baden-Powell’s wife.

At this worldwide and traditional Scouts and Guides day, we as the World Council, take the chance, to send Thinking Day and Founders Day greetings, that wish you peace and friendship with all brothers and sisters in Scouting and Guiding from across the world.

B-P’s vision, that scouting and guiding will be a real global example of nations and faiths living in peace together, shall encourage us to leave the world a little bit better behind us, than we found it. We as Scouts and Guides are guided by the Scout Law, which give us a clear view and direction of how to live together.

It is traditional for us to act on B-P’s birthday (22nd February) to help our Scouting friends who are less fortunate than ourselves; so please take the opportunity to use the “Penny Action” on this day to support Scouts and Guides in our Federation who have less fortune than us.

On behalf of the World Federation of Independent Scouts World Council, we wish you peace, friendship and a wonderful time with your Scouts and Guides.

Yours in traditional Scouting

Klaus Tegeder – President WFIS
