Dear brothers and sisters in Scouting,

I hope this end-of-year message finds you and your Scouts in good health.

Another problematic year lies behind us with many ups and downs, a year in which international camps had to be postponed and activities were carried out under restrictions or other expectations.

Despite all these difficulties, many of us could take up our work with a bit of normality; group nights and summer camps, various trainings, workshops, and general assemblies of the regions, face to face or virtually, could be offered and carried out.

Members of our association were able, with enormous efforts, to help scouts in countries in crisis and offer a summer camp for scouts from war zones.
This shows that the spirit of the Scout Law is still alive and the belief in it is unbroken.

New members in different regions were won for our federation and I would like to welcome them again here). I would also like to thank all of you who participated in the election of the World Council.

Some difficult decisions had to be made by the new and old World Council, countless exchanges of emails and meetings accompanied these decisions, some decisions had a far-reaching effect on our work, and further works will accompany us over the next few months.

During the year, we also received some bad news; Some Scout brothers and sisters who have been with us for many years have passed away and are sorely missed by all of us. Their inspiration and enthusiasm for Scouting will be missed in the future. All our thoughts are with them and their families.

I am aware that many of you are worried about the future; not a day goes by without awful news; economic and financial worries accompany us every day, and political crises and wars harm our work in the groups or associations, but it is up to all of us to be a role model for our children and to make the impossible possible for them.

We must roll up our sleeves and make every effort to continue to offer good Scouting, to provide them with stability and a future in our groups, and to live by the spirit of the Scout Law and the Scout Promise every day.

Let us build a future of peace and harmony, without class distinction and hunger, for our children to grow up with an education and the Scout Spirit.

Let us work together for a peaceful and caring tolerant world; show civil society that it can count on and build on the word of Scouting and remember the motto of our Federation

“Together, we are strongest.”

Thank you for being part of our Worldwide Scouting family.

In the name of the WFIS Council, I wish you, your family, and your members.

Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year

Yours in traditional Scouting, on behalf of the WFIS World Council
