On October 24th 2020 we held an event called “Megatapete” which is part of the Day of the Dead festivities in Mexico. In our group it has become a tradition and year after year we hold this event where we invite groups from ASGMEX and other associations to build a giant-sized colored sawdust carpet.
This year, more than 100 participating carpets, 3 Mexican Scout associations gathered, 7 groups participated, more than 90 devices connected in the transmission, and more than 150 people involved.
I share this 2 beautiful videos with the song “La Llorona”, a Mexican classic interpreted and sung by our boys and girls and also a video with 2 Scouts of our group singing “La Llorona” and that was broadcast during the event:

It was a great event, which shows that even from a distance, the Scouts of the world are always ready to adapt to adversity.
Our Megatapete highlights and enhances the great Mexican tradition of the Day of the Dead, a tradition that distinguishes us worldwide, and also encourages and involves the families of each of our boys and girls to participate.
It would be a privilege and an honor that next year we can count on your participation and that of any Scout in the world who wishes.

El 24 de octubre de 2020 realizamos un evento denominado “Megatapete” que forma parte de las festividades del Día de Muertos en México. En nuestro grupo se ha convertido en una tradición y año tras año realizamos este evento donde invitamos a grupos de ASGMEX y otras asociaciones a construir una alfombra de aserrín de colores de tamaño gigante.
Este año se reunieron más de 100 alfombras participantes, 3 asociaciones scouts mexicanas, 7 grupos participantes, más de 90 dispositivos conectados en la transmisión y más de 150 personas involucradas.

Fue un gran evento, que demuestra que incluso desde la distancia, los Scouts del mundo siempre están listos para adaptarse a la adversidad.
Nuestro Megatapete resalta y realza la gran tradición mexicana del Día de Muertos, tradición que nos distingue a nivel mundial, y además alienta e involucra a las familias de cada uno de nuestros niños y niñas a participar.
Sería un privilegio y un honor que el próximo año podamos contar con tu participación y la de cualquier Scout del mundo que lo desee.
