Dear brothers and sisters in Scouting,

Another exciting year is drawing to a close, and I would like to believe that this letter finds you in good health.

For our federation, 2025 was a year full of activities and support services.
Regional meetings and workshops, camps and training sessions were held, and preparations for the coming year, which will be a special one for our federation, were the focus of the regional and global executive committees.

We have established many new contacts with independent scout associations, some of which have now joined our federation.
I would like to express my heartfelt welcome to them once again to our federation.

Unfortunately, during the last year, we also received the sad news that some of our scout brothers and sisters, who supported our groups, associations and federation with their experience and dedication, have passed away. I am sure that they are now sitting around the
campfire with Baden Powell and continue to support us and their families. We miss our scout friends, but they will not be forgotten.

Some of our Scout friends are still struggling with global crises, be it natural disasters such as in Sri Lanka, wars that permanently prevent Scouting activities, hunger or displacement, and political activities directed against our member associations or our World Federation.
We, as the worldwide Scout family, face this with the determination to live by the Scout Law and Promise and to meet all these challenges.

We, as a Scout community, support each other; with tolerance, open-mindedness and an unconditional commitment to peace in the spirit of Baden Powell; we stand shoulder to shoulder, whatever challenges we may face.

This solidarity and commitment to one another is what sets us all apart and shows civil society what true Scouting is all about.

Next year, our federation will celebrate three decades of traditional scouting in the spirit of Baden Powell.
With all the diversity that characterises our federation, we can proudly call ourselves the largest federation of independent scouts, and we would like to celebrate this with you in the coming year.

Until then, we will continue to work for you all and, together with you, continue to follow our
self-chosen motto:

“Together, we are strongest.”

Thank you for being part of our Worldwide Scouting family.

In the name of the WFIS Council, I wish you, your family, and your members

Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year

Yours in traditional Scouting,
on behalf of the WFIS World Council
Klaus Tegeder – President WFIS
